What's new
v4.4.02026-10-27
- addedAdmins: an «Addon data file» card on the BiS admin page. Upload the addon's saved file (
toawowchar.luafrom the game's SavedVariables folder; the card shows where it is) and wowchar stores the quest data the addon (0.5.0) collected while you played: quests with their objectives, levels and rewards, the NPCs who give and finish them, where objectives count up, and the XP and money the game gave. Uploading again merges, without duplicates. The card shows the totals, the newest game build, and per zone how many quests Questie does not have (the new Forever quests), and «Download my data» gives all of it as a JSON file. Only admins can upload for now. - addedThe file is read as data and never run, in memory, up to 8 MB; a file that is not the addon's, or from another addon data version, is refused with a plain message.
- changedDeleting your account also deletes quest data you uploaded (hidden at once, gone after 30 days, like the other data).
- changedThe export format document marks the addon's
observedsection as defined but not sent: the quest data comes from the file. Exports themselves are unchanged.
v4.3.02026-10-26
- addedLeveling routes: a new Routes page next to Quests. Pick a start (your own race comes first: Human, Dwarf and Gnome, Night Elf, Orc and Troll, Undead, Tauren, or one of the two Skyborne starts) and follow a route of quests from level 1 to about 40: the zones it visits with their level ranges, a map of the zone you are looking at with the route's points in order, and every step (accept, objective, turn in, travel, grind) with its
/wayline for TomTom. On your own character the steps you have done are dimmed and the first one that is not done says «You are here» (from what the addon has read; nobody else sees it). The levels are estimates. The routes are drafts made from the Questie quest data: quests only, no flight paths, boats or dungeons, and no class quests. The Skyborne start on Zephras Isle and the zones after it are a guess until the game is out, and the page says so. - addedAdmins: a «Generate routes» card on the BiS admin page makes the routes of all eight starts from the Questie data in the database (about 3 seconds). It replaces draft routes and keeps a route that is final or has an edited step (for the route editor that comes later).
- changedThe Questie import also reads each quest's XP (
xpDB-classic.luaof the pinned release; 3,492 of the 5,226 quests have one) for the routes' level estimates.
v4.2.02026-10-26
- changedReleases are made by tag (toa-rules 4.0.0). Pushing
mainno longer deploys anything; a pushed tagvX.Y.Zis the release and the only thing that builds and rolls out. The deploy checks first that the tag is the version inapp/package.jsonand has its entry here, then builds, scans and rolls out the image as before, and finally publishes a GitHub Release with this file's section for the version. A rollback isgh workflow run deploy.yml -f tag=<previous tag>(tags from v4.2.0 on). The site itself does not change. - changedTests, the build and the dependency audit run locally before every push (
scripts/check.sh, run by the pre-push hook) instead of in GitHub Actions. The audit also still runs every Monday.scripts/check.shturns Nuxt telemetry off (NUXT_TELEMETRY_DISABLED=1): under lefthook the build saw a terminal, asked an invisible consent question and the push hung. - removedThe CI, version and release workflows (
ci.yml,version.yml,release.yml), and the audit run on pull requests.
